Instructor - Mark

Man in yellow shirt holding a wooden stick outdoors.

Mark

Mark teaches from nearly 30 years of living it.

Since beginning his martial arts journey in the 90's, Mark has spent decades studying what actually works when people are under pressure. His experience spans boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai, MMA, submission wrestling, weapons training, fitness, and reality-based self-defense. But what truly separates his approach is that his knowledge extends beyond the training floor.

Mark's background includes military service, security work, corrections, bouncing, personal training, and years of working in environments where conflict, aggression, and human behavior were part of everyday life. Those experiences taught him something many people never learn:

Real violence doesn't look like a martial arts movie.

It doesn't happen on mats. It doesn't happen in rings. It doesn't follow rules, weight classes, or time limits.

Real violence is fast, chaotic, emotional, and unpredictable.

That reality became the foundation of Four Pillars Combatives.

Over the years, Mark trained in traditional martial arts, combat sports, modern self-defense systems, and high-level MMA environments. He learned the value of competition, the importance of physical conditioning, and the necessity of pressure-testing techniques against resisting opponents.

But he also learned that no single style has all the answers.

That realization led him to create Four Pillars Combatives—a complete training system built around four essential areas:

Grappling. Striking. Weapons. Fitness.

These four pillars work together to create capable, confident individuals who can handle adversity both inside and outside the training environment.

As a personal trainer, Mark believes physical fitness is not separate from self-defense—it is part of it. Strength, conditioning, endurance, mobility, and resilience all contribute to a person's ability to protect themselves and perform under pressure.

Today, Mark teaches:

- Four Pillars Combatives
- Women's Self-Defense
- MMA
- Muay Thai
- Boxing
- Submission Wrestling
- Weapons Training
- Cardio Kickboxing
- Boot Camps
- Fitness & Conditioning

Training is available through private lessons, small group training, seminars, and workshops.

Students train with Mark for many different reasons. Some want to learn self-defense. Some want to improve their fitness. Some want to compete. Others simply want to become stronger, more confident versions of themselves.

Regardless of the goal, every student is taught the same core principles:

- Stay calm under pressure
- Think before you react
- Develop real skills
- Build physical and mental resilience
- Earn confidence through competence

Mark's mission is not to create tough guys.

His mission is to help ordinary people become more capable, more prepared, and more confident in their ability to handle life's challenges.

Because true confidence doesn't come from being told you're capable.

It comes from proving it to yourself.

No fluff. No shortcuts. No false confidence.

Just real training for real situations.
